Things to do

Cycling - bike hire can be arranged locally
Walking - beautiful walks close by at the Queen Elizabeth forest, or for the more adventurous, Ben Lomond, Ben Ledi, and Ben Venue are only a short drive away.
Golf - There is golf locally at Balfron, Drymen, Aberfoyle and Callander and also at the famous courses at Loch Lomond.
Pony trekking - At Rednock near Callander
Fishing - At the Lake of Menteith
Go Ape - At Aberofoyle, David Marshall Lodge

Eating out

In the village of Buchlyvie there are two pubs, The Buchlyvie Inn and The Rob Roy.
In Kippen, The Cross Keys and The Inn at Kippen both serve good meals.
At Port of Menteith, The Lake hotel is good for more formal dining but there is also a Bistro for casual dining.
Culcreuch Castle in Fintry is a beautiful setting for an evening meal .
In Balfron, the Saffron is an Indian restaurant - they will also deliver.

Coffee shops

We are surrounded by super coffee shops where you can indulge in yummy home baking or have a light lunch. These can be found in Buchlyvie, Fintry, Ward Toll Garden Centre and Kippen.

There are three delicatessens , Balfron, Kippen and Buchlyvie. There are two well stocked general grocer shops, The Co-op in Balfron and Costcutters in Buchlyvie, and also a very good butcher in Buchlyvie
